Congrats to our very first bidder and winner of the High School Musical! Thank you to everyone who is helping spread the word about our fundraiser. The reason the action had to end so soon is because I have committed to a local Craft Sale and it is this weekend. I will be taking the blankets there that did not sell on this posting. If you are new at finding us and really want a certain blanket e- mail me at blanketsoflove@myway.com to see if it is still available. I will be posting more next week after the sale. (what is left) I have been busy sewing and have a lot of beautiful ones! If I have time to take and post pictures in the morn I will. That will give all of you that don't live here a chance at that the one that is just sooo.. you! I will give you some names, If you want to see a certain one leave me a comment. This blog is to share in our family's journey as we walk with God to a land far away. We are in the process of adopting internationally. We don't know yet who they are but we do know that God does, and He has already prepared our hearts to love them.
"What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God" Mic.6:8
I am a stay at home wife, mom, home school teacher and caregiver, for my hubby and children. I have been wanting to start a blog for family and friends to follow our adoption journey as well a conduct a fundraiser. I got this idea of doing both on this blog (with permission!) from another family who is adopting as well and doing a fundraiser by making bags. (link posted). we started making these blankets a year ago as a family project to raise money to sponsor a special needs childs heart or cleft palate surgery. Thanks to the many friends and family who helped sew or purchased blankets we were able to donate over $1,000! Praise Him! And THANK YOU!
The blankets were such a big hit with many more request comming in that we decided to keep making them as long as I could get the fabric. This time they will be sold to donate to the cost of bringing our precious children home to us from an orphanage.
Thank you for all your suport and encouragement!
These blankets are made from Anti pill fleece print with a cordinating fleece on the back. The back fleece is most often a furry fleece that can be short hair or long hair but VERY soft and cozy! There will be some that are from "ultra cuddle" fleece or with that on the back. However, rest asurred that they ARE warm! Each blanket will have a desription and photo's and a starting price. They are different sizes and each will have it's own starting price as the cost of fabric differ's for each size and kind of backing. We have had a lot of fun putting together the styles and colors for you! We get rave reviews on these blankets and they have been the start of many "fights" ;) .... so you best get two!!! The furry fleece on the back is a polyester. We have washed all of these different types of fabric's in cold water and a "low" heat to dry.
Remember, CHRISTMAS is comming and so is cold weather! (Unless you live in Florida or Arizona!) Nothing better than to curl up in a warm fuzzy blanket, with a good book and a cup of hot chocalate when the weather is frightful! Mmmmm.... And what a practical but fun gift to give that works for ALL ages!!
